Our Work
Our work is rooted in the everyday lives of Himalayan communities.
We focus on three interconnected areas—Health & Wellness, Sustainable Livelihoods, and Environment & Culture
—each shaped by local wisdom and driven by community leadership.
We don’t run programs for people. We build pathways with them.
Health & Wellness
In Uttarkashi, the nearest hospital can be hours away. That’s why we bring preventive, promotive, and basic care directly to the doorstep—with compassion and consistency.
What We Do:
- Conduct health screenings and wellness camps
- Train and support ASHAs, caregivers, and local youth
- Share knowledge through school sessions, home visits, and community workshops
Why It Matters: Health doesn’t begin in hospitals. It begins at home—with awareness, early detection, and community care.
Sustainable Livelihoods
Building income pathways that protect what matters.
In a changing economy, many leave the mountains to survive. We support those who stay—with training, tools, and access that honour both tradition and innovation.
What We Do:
- Facilitate entitlements and rural employment schemes
- Offer skills training in crafts, eco-tourism, and enterprise
- Promote women-led initiatives rooted in local strengths
Why It Matters: A dignified livelihood means staying rooted—without having to choose between survival and home.
Environment & Culture
Protecting the Himalayas, one village at a time.
Forests, rivers, and oral traditions form the soul of mountain life. We work with youth, elders, and governance bodies to nurture this living heritage.
What We Do:
- Enable youth-led forest walks, river clean-ups, and waste audits
- Document local traditions and ecological knowledge
- Collaborate with schools and panchayats on eco-awareness
Why It Matters: Conservation begins with care—and thrives when communities lead the way.
How We Work
Across all areas, our approach is grounded in:

Listening first
Letting communities set priorities.

Co-creation
Designing initiatives with people, not for them.

Sustainability
Long-term capacity focus and systems change.
